Provocation of a Crime: Semen Khanin to Speak at the All-Ukrainian Forum

Well-known attorney and one of the leading experts in the fields of criminal law and procedure, white-collar crime investigations, and anti-corruption practice, Semen Khanin will be a speaker at the IV All-Ukrainian Forum on Criminal Law and Procedure named after Yosyp Bronz.

During the Forum, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Managing Partner of AMBER Law Firm Semen Khanin will deliver a presentation titled “Provocation of a Crime”. 

He will consider key issues related to the legal assessment of criminal provocation, the specifics of examining and evaluating evidence, materials obtained through covert investigative (detective) actions, as well as analyzing current case law of Ukrainian courts and the European Court of Human Rights regarding the application of this legal concept.

The Forum will take place on August 21, 2026, in Odesa and will serve as a professional platform for discussing the most pressing issues of criminal law and criminal procedure with the participation of leading representatives of the legal community.

The IV All-Ukrainian Forum on Criminal Law and Procedure named after Yosyp Bronz continues the tradition of a major professional event that annually brings together attorneys, judges, prosecutors, scholars, and other legal professionals to discuss current challenges and trends in the development of criminal justice.

The event is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian attorney and Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Yosyp Bronz, who made a significant contribution to the development and strengthening of Ukrainian advocacy.

This year’s Forum speakers include judges of the Supreme Court, the High Anti-Corruption Court and the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, leading Ukrainian attorneys, scholars, and experts in criminal law and procedure.
